2016 British Swimming Referee examination
CONGRATULATIONS to the following Regional technical officials who have passed the 2016 British Swimming Referee examination.
Candidates are required to make a substantial commitment during the year, both on the poolside and in the “classroom” theory sessions, whilst under the supervision of a BS Referee Course Leader. The conclusion of the training was a 2 ½ hours written examination sat in November. They will undertake a practical assessment in the near future.

ASA East Swimming Talent Camp Day 2
Over the weekend the second day of the Regional Talent Camp took place. The swimmers received a presentation of Performance Lifestyles from Roberto Pavoni, and a Strength and Conditioning session delivered by David Jakeman. A huge thank you to the coaches involved and the support from the swimmers' parents. A full report to follow.
Future Sports Leaders
The Future Sports Leaders is a project developed by the Youth Sport Trust in conjunction with Sporting Equals whereby they are providing development opportunities for young leaders in sport from Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic (BAME) communities. 80 young people aged 15-18 will be provided with the opportunity to attend a unique conference taking place in February.
Applications will remain open until the 30th December. We are hopeful that this will appeal to some of our young people in aquatics.
