East Region runs an annual Masters Development Day which typically consists of classroom sessions ( psychology/nutrition/etc), a land-based session to teach exercises for strength and injury prevention and a coach-led pool training session.
Masters Development Day 2023
Date: Sunday 21st May 2023.
Venue: Culford School, Bury St Edmunds,Suffolk IP28 6TX.
Time: 10:30am – 5pm
The Masters Development Day will consist of an 1.5 hour land-base session followed by lunch then a 1.5 hour nutrition talk and to finish the day with an 1.5 hour pool session.
The nutrition talk will be presented by Kathryn Peters.
Kathryn trained in dance during her undergraduate degree and is a Level 4 qualified Personal Trainer, working with clients to achieve their health and lifestyle goals, with a particular focus on nutrition and eating habits, for the past 7 years. In 2021, she completed an MSc in Dance Science (with distinction) at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance, where her dissertation focused on disordered eating and exercise behaviours amongst dancers. Last year, Kathryn also completed an MSc in Applied Sports Nutrition accredited by the UK Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENR), graduating as a sports nutritionist with distinction. She has worked with Sport Scholar athletes at St Mary’s University across a range of sports such as gymnastics, rugby union, taekwondo, karate and athletics (endurance), and dancers at the English National Ballet School. Kathryn is currently working with musical theatre and music students at Urdang and City University, as well as players at Wimbledon Women’s Football club. She provides nutrition support using 1-2-1 consultations, recipe cards, meal plans, education sessions and resources, all tailored specifically to each athlete and their training goals/demands.
