Two regional development training opportunities ran on 24th September and 1st October at Hatfield Swim Centre aimed at the region’s youngest artistic swimmers. Artistic Swimming Important Information Following World Aquatics rule changes the following updates need to be undertaken: ALL Current Judges – to attend at least 1 of the 3 Zoom online sessions – to upskill to the new system – in order to be able to continue judging at their current Level from 1st Jan 2024.
Swim England East Region Artistic Swimming held their first Grading Day of 2022. It was held on Saturday 29th January at Witham Leisure Centre, Witham. It was great to be back doing some face to face assessments and everyone involved had a great day.
Congratulations to Aqualina Artistic Swimming member Max Sewell. The 14 year old won a bronze medal at the recent European Artistic Swimming Championships, winning the first ever medal for a mixed duet for Great Britain. The full story can be found on the Swim England website.
Six of the region’s synchronised swimming clubs sent teams to the Swim England Synchro Combo Cup on 6th July at the London Aquatics Centre. There was medal success for the first time at the Combo Cup for Brentwood, and successive Combo Cup medals for Aqualina who came away with three medals this year . Full
The Synchronised Swimming National Age Group Competition took place in Gloucester on 24th and 25th November and featured four clubs from the East Region. The Synchro Combo Cup took place at the London Aquatics Centre on 7th July. The event saw five clubs from around the region enter: Aqualina, Brentwood Chelmsford Clacton Norwich. Medals were won by Aqualina and Norwich. Well done to all involved!
