Swimmers from East selected for European Junior Open Water Champs

Swim England East Region would like to offer its best wishes to the four swimmers who are shortly to compete at the European Junior Open Water Championships in Malta.  The four East Region swimmers representing Team GB are Nathan Hughes (Hatfield), Max Jelfs (Hatfield), Jamie Scholes (Peterborough) and Lewis Binning (Basildon).

Nathan is a seasoned international with both European Junior and World Junior Championships already under his belt.  Max is competing in his second year of EJOW following his selection last year also.  Jamie has three international selections for England locked in already and finally Lewis has an England selection already completed this year.

All four boys have worked extremely hard to get where they are, with many moving through a number of clubs on their development pathway to maximise their performances.  We would offer additional congratulations to Team Luton, Biggleswade and Central Beds Swim Squads (Nathan), Maxwell and Hemel Hempstead (Max), Romford (Lewis) and Peterborough’s development programmes (Jamie).  All the aforementioned have supported these athletes and it’s been the building blocks and learning experiences these swimmers have picked up across many years that has allowed them to maximise their potential to reach their current status with Team GB in Malta.

We will post results as soon as we get them.  Good luck to all of Team GB and congratulations again to all the clubs involved.
