Swim England president – Tom Baster

Swim England are pleased to introduce Tom Baster as their new President.

Tom is a lifelong member of Basildon & District Swimming Club (now Basildon and Phoenix), he brings decades of experience across the sport as an official, leader and volunteer at club, regional, national and international level.

As a World Aquatics Swimming Referee, Tom officiated at the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games and has held senior leadership roles within Swim England and internationally.

His passion for swimming and the deep respect for the people who make the sport possible, he is a strong advocate for swimmers, coaches, officials and volunteers across the country.

Most of you will know Tom through his tireless work across the East Region. As our Swimming Leadership Group Manager and a former Regional Director, Tom has played a pivotal role in the development and success of swimming within the Region.

Whether behind the scenes or poolside at our Regional Championships, which he organises with exceptional professionalism each year, Tom’s commitment, leadership, and attention to detail are evident to everyone involved. His dedication has helped create a positive and successful environment for swimmers, coaches, officials, volunteers, and clubs alike.

This honour is a fitting recognition of the countless hours Tom has devoted to the sport and the significant contribution he continues to make to aquatics. His passion and commitment have had a lasting impact on the East Region and beyond
