Swim England East Region is delighted to announce that Aqualina Artistic Swimming Club has been awarded the 2026 Jeff Cook Salver, recognising its outstanding contribution to aquatics .
The Jeff Cook Salver is one of the East Region’s longstanding awards. First presented to the Region at its inception in 2005, it recognises an individual, team or club that has made a significant contribution to the sport. Previous recipients include a range of dedicated volunteers and clubs. The award has continued to recognise those who make a lasting difference to aquatics in our region.
Aqualina is a deserving recipient, demonstrating that the impact of a club is measured by far more than its size. Despite being a relatively small club, Aqualina continues to take its swimmers to major competitions and events, where they proudly showcase their skills and compete alongside much larger clubs.
The club has created a welcoming, inclusive and supportive environment where swimmers of all ages, abilities and backgrounds are encouraged to develop and reach their potential. Its strong team spirit, positive coaching environment and commitment to individual development help swimmers build not only their technical skills but also confidence, resilience and lifelong friendships.
The dedication of Head Coach Kerri and the coaching team, alongside the commitment of volunteers ensures that every swimmer feels valued and supported. Older swimmers actively encourage and mentor younger members, creating a genuine sense of belonging and a club culture in which everyone has the opportunity to shine.
The nominations received also highlighted the profound difference Aqualina makes to the lives of its swimmers and families. For some, the club has provided a vital sense of community, friendship and stability, helping young people through challenging times and giving them somewhere they feel accepted, supported and happy.
The club’s achievements, growing membership, commitment to inclusion and continued development at national level are testament to the hard work and passion of everyone involved.
Congratulations to everyone at Aqualina Artistic Swimming Club. This award is a thoroughly deserved recognition of the difference you make, both in and out of the water, and the positive contribution you continue to make to artistic swimming across the East Region.
