Regional Academy
Swim England East Region runs a Regional Academy, which is the start of the water polo talent pathway. Players who meet set criteria at the Regional Academy may be selected to attend the National Academy. At the National Academy, players have the opportunity to be selected for England teams.
Regional Academy 2026
The Regional Academy Training sessions for 2026 dates are:

Registration for players, Coaches & Team Managers for each session will close the Thursday before that session at midnight. You will be unable to register after the closing date.
If you have register for a session but are unable to attend please let the office staff know. Please note that if you do not attend the session the place is non refundable and non transferrable.
If you are attending the training sessions at Haberdashers Elstree School registration on the day for session one will be at 1:45pm for a 2pm-3.30pm session.
Registration for session two will be at 3.15pm for a 3.30pm-5.30pm session.

There will be two sessions held.
Session one 2pm-3.30pm: For players born 2014-2012 boys & girls (who will not be attending trials).
Session two 3.30pm-5.30pm – U16 (2011 & younger boys & girls) Inter-Regionals Trial

The Region also organises trials and training sessions for Inter Regional squads that form an essential part in a player’s skill development.
Water Polo Table Officials Course
The course is open to Swim England members who are 16 and over. The course is ideal for players, coaches and parents to learn and understand the rules and give back to the sport by officiating at local league games, regional and national tournaments and university BUCs matches.
