Swim England East Region is celebrating the outstanding achievements of swimmers with connections to the region following the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games.
Representing England, Jack Skerry, Erin Little, Louise Fiddes and William Ellard all competed on the international stage, while Angharad Evans, who began her swimming journey in the East Region, proudly represented Scotland. Harry Robinson also competed at the Games for the Isle of Man.
The achievements are a fantastic reflection of the depth of talent developed through swimming clubs and programmes across the East Region, as well as the dedication of the swimmers, their coaches, clubs, volunteers and families.
William Ellard – England
Men’s S14 200m Freestyle – Gold 🏅
Will Ellard enjoyed a Games to remember, becoming Commonwealth champion in the men’s S14 200m freestyle.
He produced a superb performance to take gold in a new Commonwealth Games record of 1:53.52, adding another major achievement to an already impressive international career.
Will’s swimming journey began in the East Region, having started with Beccles Kingfishers Swimming Club before progressing through the swimming pathway and establishing himself as a regular member of the British international para-swimming team.
Louise Fiddes – England
Women’s S14 200m Freestyle – 5th
Louise added another Commonwealth Games appearance to an outstanding international career, finishing 5th in the women’s S14 200m freestyle for England.
The Hertfordshire swimmer has established herself as one of the world’s leading para-swimmers, with major success at Paralympic, World and European level. Her selection for England in Glasgow was another proud moment in a career that continues to inspire swimmers across the region.
Her performance in Glasgow adds another significant international achievement to an impressive career and is a testament to her continued dedication and commitment to the sport.
Jack Skerry – England
Men’s 50m Backstroke – 4th
Men’s 100m Backstroke – 4th
Men’s 200m Backstroke – 7th
Jack Skerry also represented England in Glasgow, producing a series of strong performances in the backstroke events.
He narrowly missed out on the podium in both the men’s 50m and 100m backstroke, finishing 4th in each event, before placing 7th in the men’s 200m backstroke.
His selection and performances at the Games represent another significant achievement in his developing international career and provide another reason for the East Region to celebrate his success on the Commonwealth stage.
Erin Little – England
For Erin Little, Glasgow represented another important milestone in her progression as an international swimmer, as she made her senior Commonwealth Games debut for England.
Erin competed in the heats of the women’s 4x100m freestyle relay, mixed 4x100m freestyle relay and women’s 4x100m medley relay. Her performances contributed to England’s successful relay campaigns, with the women’s 4x100m freestyle and mixed 4x100m freestyle teams going on to secure silver medals, while the women’s 4x100m medley team finished fifth in the final.
Having enjoyed success at the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games, Erin’s selection for the senior Commonwealth Games was another significant step in her development as an international swimmer.
Angharad Evans – Scotland
Women’s 100m Breaststroke – Gold 🏅
Women’s 200m Breaststroke – Gold 🏅
Women’s 4x100m Medley Relay – Silver 🥈
Mixed 4x100m Medley Relay – Bronze🥉
There was a special East Region connection in the Team Scotland squad through Angharad Evans, who began her swimming career in the region before going on to establish herself as one of Britain’s leading breaststroke swimmers.
Competing in front of a passionate home crowd in Glasgow, Evans enjoyed a sensational Games, winning gold in both the women’s 100m and 200m breaststroke.
Her performances made her one of the standout swimmers of the Games and a hugely important figure in Scottish swimming. Her success is also a proud achievement for everyone who supported her journey from her early days in the East Region.
Harry Robinson
Represented the Isle of Man at the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, competing in a number of individual events and contributing to the Isle of Man’s relay teams.
Harry helped the Isle of Man’s Mixed 4x100m Freestyle Relay team to an impressive 8th-place finish.
He also competed in the:

Previously a member of City of Cambridge Swimming Club. His appearance at Glasgow 2026 adds another East Region connection to the Commonwealth stage and represents a fantastic achievement.
A Games to remember for the East Region
The achievements of Jack, Erin, Louise, Will, Angharad and Harry highlight the remarkable journeys that can begin in local swimming clubs and progress all the way to the Commonwealth Games.
From the early stages of their swimming careers in clubs across the East Region to competing on one of the biggest stages in international sport, their journeys are an inspiration to the next generation of swimmers.
