Colchester Phoenix swimmers Fran Williamson and Natalie Jones won silver and bronze on the final day of swimming at the Paralympics in Beijing.
Fran was competing in the S3 50m Backstroke and as she touched home in a time of 1:06.07 to take the silver medal she proved that all of her hard work had been worth it with her second medal of the competition.
“I enjoyed that,” Williamson said. “I definitely could have gone quicker but I felt powerful in the water. Overall I am happy I hoped to come here and medal and I have come away with two.”
Natalie Jones was one of three British swimmers in the S6 50m Freestyle final.
It was Jones that looked the strongest and she fought hard to win her second medal. At the 25m mark she was in second place but found it too much to keep up with and won her second bronze medal in a time of 37.21.
