The British contingent competing at the European Junior Championships continued their gold rush as they clinched two more gold medals on the third day of competition in Belgrade.
Xavier Mohammed won the first gold medal of the day with an excellent performance in the boys 200m Individual Medley. Mohammed touched for the first 50m in fourth place but came back and touched in the lead at 100m, touching home in 2:00.73 to take the top spot.
The silver medal was won by Jan David Schepers (Germany) in 2:03.22, with fellow British team-mate Roberto Pavoni taking Bronze in a time of 2:04.03.
The boys 4x200m Freestyle relay saw the British team, which included Robert Bale, Thomas Parris, Ryan Bennett and Christopher Walker-Hebborn, look to follow on from their success after the World Junior Championships in Mexico. Walker-Hebborn brought the team home in the final leg and touched in a time of 7:19.98 ahead of Italy who finished in 7:22.72 and Russia took bronze in 7:23.78.
Pavoni became the first British athlete to win two individual medals in one day of the competition. He swam an excellent race to take the first medal of the day for the British squad in the boys 200m Butterfly.
He touched in a time of 1:59.94 to achieve a new personal best and win his silver medal. The gold was claimed by Federico Bussolin (Italy) in 1:59.29 and bronze went to Jan Sefl in 1:59.96 (Czech Republic).
