The East Region Open Water Swimming Committee are pleased to announce their second Open Water Championships, incorporating County Championships as appropriate, to be held at Whitlingham Outdoor Education Centre, Norwich,on July 20th.

The longest Championship distance has been changed to 5k.  This has meant that the East Region has been included in the ASA Grand Prix Series where there is prize money not only for the final event but also in each regional competition.  We have retained the Novice 800m to give newcomers a chance to try swimming Open Water but have added a 17+ Age Group to allow older swimmers to enter if they wish.  The Committee has also removed the restriction of entry to only one event.

Any club with swimmers entering each of the four events (male or female) will be automatically entered in the team competition.  (please see entry form for details).

As events will be taking place all day, the region has arranged for items to be available for purchase from a barbeque, which should add to the family atmosphere of the event.  The Outdoor Education Centre is sited in the beautiful surroundings of Whitlingham Country Park.
