the asa have announced that from the 1st January 2009 the prerequisite age for people to undertake the UKCC/asa level 2 courses for Coaching and Teaching will be reduce to 17 years old.

This will encourage more young people to stay involved with the sport and will enable people to achieve the required qualifications within a shorter time span.

Young adults who may be interested in coaching and teaching should talk to their current coaches first or for further details on the various types of courses etc visit the Teaching & Coaching section of the British Swimming website. Details of forthcoming courses near you can be found on the ASA East Region website under the Education/Workforce development section.
