Braintree & Bocking Swimming Club members were the envy of their competitors as they arrived at their recent National Swimming League gala in Bexley in the England Football team coach.  Club Treasurer Stuart Mclagan had arranged for the luxurious travel arrangements with coach company Guidelines Coaches Ltd, who have assisted the club with sponsorship.  The company’s owner, Tom McKechnie, was the driver for the evening and had plenty of questions to answer about the bus’s normal occupants!  The question on everyone’s lips was ‘where does David Beckham sit?’ and Isabella Salthouse was delighted to be told she was in the England star’s usual seat. 

Orin Mann won a signed Frank Lampard shirt for being nearest with his guess of the total distance travelled in the bus.  Club publicity officer Martin Travell said, “It was very luxurious inside with tables and TV screens dotted about.  We turned a few heads when the coach was waiting at Freeport and when we were driving through Bexley.  The swimmers thoroughly enjoyed it”.
