Rochford & District swimmer Jo-Jo Cranfield won the Essex County Council Paralympic Hopeful Award at this year's Essex Sports Awards, which were presented on 6th November.  It was the second honour in a month for Jo-Jo, who in October had also been named Southend-on-Sea's Junior Sports Personality.

At the Essex Sports Awards, James Hollis of Epping Forest SC was highly recommended in the same award category that Jo-Jo won, and Alex Morgan of Thurrock SC was highly recommended in the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority Coach of the Year Award.
