Four volunteers from the region have been thanked for their work in diving clubs by the ASA.
Bill Clark and Steve Briggs from Southend-on-Sea and Sam Buck and Josh Karshen from Cambridge Dive team were amongst six volunteers invited by the ASA to attend the recent FINA Diving World Series in Sheffield as VIP's.
All of the volunteers have given their time freely to their diving clubs but have also been instrumental in supporting their clubs to achieve swim21 accreditation. swim 21 Accreditation is a 'Quality mark' that recognises nationally and regionally the clubs that are committed to providing safe, effective and quality services for the benefit of their members.
Yvette Heywood, ASA National Volunteer Co-ordinator, said: “It’s great to be able to make our volunteers feel valued and appreciated because without them there would be no sport.
“It was particularly nice to be able to reward these volunteers for their work with swim 21 Accreditation. They helped their clubs to work steadily towards a series of outcomes and their hard work means the right level of support is available to all athletes in their clubs.”
