Flitwick Dolphins swimmer Claire Warne has been named in the final 10 for the BBC Young Sports Personality 2007 award.
Disability swimmer Warne took 200m Individual Medley bronze at the International Paralympic Committee World Championships last year in Durban aged just 13. At this year’s Disability Sport Events Junior National Championships, Warne came away with seven individual gold medals and a relay gold.
Warne joins diver Thomas Daley on the shortlist, alongside George Atkins (Cycling), Hollie Avil (Triathlon), Paul Drinkhall (Table Tennis), James Harris (Cricket), Sandra Hyslop (Canoeing/Kayaking), Asha Philip (Athletics), Bradley Smith (Motorsport) and Michael White (Snooker).
The judging panel are set to meet on 19 November to select the top three athletes who will be invited to attend the BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards where the winner will be announced.
