Young Aquatic Helpers Course funding extended
Due to the success of the funding available to support clubs wishing to host a Young Aquatic Helpers course, the initiative will continue up until March 25th 2015. In the last 3 months, we have had 65 learners attend a Helpers course and we would like to support this number grow even further. Each club hosting the course will receive £50 if 10 or more 13-25 year old's book on to attend. There is no cost to running the course within your club, other than venue hire, and the learners will receive certification from the IoS after attendance. Brown announces his retirement
COMMONWEALTH champion Adam Brown has announced his retirement from swimming after calling time on a competitive career that also included two Olympic Games and three World Championships.
The Cambridge-born sprinter, who was part of the quartet that swam to gold in 4x100 Medley Relay in Glasgow this summer, will complete his degree in the U.S. next year before working towards a career in coaching.
“This decision has been extremely tough to make but I feel it is the right time for me to call it a day,” said the Hatfield SC star. “It has been an amazing journey and one that I will forever be proud of. Finishing it off with Commonwealth gold is a great way to end.

ASA Inter-Region Water Polo Championship report
THE East Region's Under-18 boys team gave a good account of themselves at the ASA Inter-Region Championships in Sheffield where - following promotion to Division One last year – they faced the challenge of playing the country’s strongest regional teams.
Although the relatively young squad failed to secure a win, they were competitive in all their games. Head Coach Tim Whitwham said: "Our starting seven was the equal of the other regions and with a full complement we would probably have won a game. We were miles ahead of the best team in Division 2 and deserved to be playing in Div 1.”
