ASA East Region Recognition Awards- now open for nominations

The ASA East Region has launched this opportunity for individuals to nominate members of their club as a chance to thank those who dedicate vital hours, days and weeks to our sport. We want to hear about those that go above and beyond to help develop the sport within our region. Without these magnificent people, aquatics would not be where it is today and we want to recognise this by celebrating their commitment and achievements.

Nominations for the 2015 ASA East Region Recognition Awards are now open until 5pm on the 10th July. The Nomination form 2015 needs to be returned to east@swimming.org or to The ASA East Region, 5 The Court, Lanwades Business Park, Kentford, Suffolk, CB8 7PN.

 

The awards will be presented at the Regional ACM on the 12th September 2015 at Freckenham Village Hall, Freckenham, Suffolk, IP28 8JB.

The Categories are;

1. Club Volunteer of the Year

2. Outstanding Contribution by a Young Volunteer

3. Outstanding Contribution to Swimming in the Community

4. Outstanding County- Regional Contribution

5. Services to Officials' Development

6. Volunteer Teacher or Coach of the Year

7. The Silver Pin Award- This is awarded to people who have made a contribution that has significantly helped to develop swimming within the ASA East Region in one or more of the following ways;

  • Increasing participation in swimming
  • Widening access to swimming
  • Improving the performance of athletes
  • Increasing volunteer numbers
  • Raising the profile of the region
  • Raising the profile of aquatics in the region
  • Implementing successful innovative schemes
  • Developing resources which have enhanced the provision of aquatics

8. Jeff Cook Salver Award- The Salver will be awarded to the person, team or club who has made a significant contribution to the sport.

Criteria for winners

Clubs, individuals, Counties and committees can all submit nominations so long as they are a member of the ASA East Region.

All nominated coaches, teachers or officials should have the appropriate qualifications and be a member of the ASA East Region.
