Two East Region officials pass referee exams

CONGRATULATIONS to Sarah Paines (City of Ely SC) and Trevor Seddon (Sudbury & District SC) who have passed this year's British Swimming Referee Examination.

 

Two out of the five East Region swimming technical officials were successful, with special thanks to course leaders and referees who assisted in the training and poolside mentoring of the officials taking this year's examination.

The minimum age for training is 19, providing the candidate is aged 20 by November 30, 2013. Candidates must have proven poolside experience at Judge Level 1 and Judge Level 2 and must also have been qualified as Judge Level 2S for at least a year with a minimum of 10 hours post-qualification experience in that role at the time of application.

 

The course requires a considerable level of commitment from candidates who are required to undertake the following:

  • Attend a British Swimming Referee Course (at least 16 hours theory)
  • Complete the prescribed number of poolside duties (at least 10 Sessions practical)
  • Attain a pass mark in the theoretical examination in November 2013 (2 hours 15mins)
  • Complete a formal practical assessment
